Lead by his grace Bishop Suriel
at the Eporo Tower Coptic Church, 279 La Trobe Street, Melbourne
One of the oldest Churches in the world wide communion is the Coptic Church. The Coptic Church of Egypt traces its beginning to Mark, the author of the second Gospel, who according to tradition, took the gospel to Egypt during the reign of Nero who was emperor from A.D. 54-68.
In recent years the Church in Egypt has suffered from the rise of radical militant Islamists, as churches have been torched and worshippers threatened and killed. In an age where the Church in Egypt is under threat, it is important for us to show solidarity and learn about how they have kept the faith alive throughout the years.
In this session Bishop Suriel will speak about Coptic Spirituality and the Coptic Church in Australia.
