MESSY CHURCH

Messy Church and Mini Messy Church are both informal, inter-generational gatherings, where we enjoy each other’s company as we explore the Christian story through craft, conversation, music and story.
Each Messy Church session will have five or six different craft activities on the evening’s theme, a time of worship and will finish with a shared meal.
Some months we have Mini Messy Church so we can keep in touch with each other. This is a slightly shorter and more low-key event: one all age activity and a shared meal.
They are held on the third Saturday of the month commencing at 5pm. Messy Church concludes at 7pm and Mini Messy Church concludes at 6.30pm.
Messy Church and Mini Messy Church are both welcoming, relaxed, different, for all ages from babies to seniors, and, above all, fun.
Both Messy Church and Mini Messy Church are designed to be inter-generational, they are not “children’s church”.
Messy Church values are about being Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.
Dates for 2025:
Messy Church: 15 March, 19 April, 21 June, 16 August, 18 October
Mini Messy Church: 17 May, 19 July, 20 September, 15 November
MUSIC MINISTRY

St John’s Choral Group, although small in number, is dedicated to enhancing the congregational singing and leading worship in the singing of psalms and responses. These are often taken from John Bell’s publications. We also meet regularly to prepare choral music for significant times in the Church year.
New members are always welcome. This can be one of the most uplifting forms of Stewardship… just ask any of the present Choristers!
